DCNR Names New Assistant Park Manager for Codorus State Park in York County

Harrisburg, PA – Today, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn announced the appointment of Dan Clark as the assistant manager for Codorus State Park in York County.

“Dan is a consummate professional and a true servant leader, and we are excited to see him taking on a new challenge at Codorus,” Secretary Dunn said. “His experience and hard-working spirit will be a tremendous asset to one of our most popular parks.”

Clark is supporting operations at the 3,500-acre park, which spans the rolling hills of southern York County. Codorus includes popular Lake Marburg.  With 26 miles of shoreline it is a rest stop for migrating waterfowl and shorebirds. The 1,275-acre lake is popular with sail and motor boaters. Anglers love the lake for warmwater fishing and can also travel a short distance outside the park to fish Codorus Creek for trout.

Clark began his career at DCNR in 2002 as a custodian at Codorus. He credits hard work in subsequent positions as a semiskilled laborer, maintenance repairman, wastewater treatment plant operator, maintenance supervisor, and manager trainee as leading to his appointment.

“It feels good to be in this role and I am proud to have the opportunity to help manage this park and support the amazing staff,” Clark said, “I am eager to work with the community and to get to know the visitors looking to enjoy this beautiful park.”

A Hanover native, Clark is a graduate of Hanover High School who holds certifications in wastewater and pool operations.

Clark enjoys spending time with his wife Diana and daughter, Amber. He enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing, and spending time around campfires. As an animal lover, Clark enjoys summertime at Codorus when he can meet visitors and their pets.

Last year, Governor Josh Shapiro launched Pennsylvania: The Great American Getaway, a new tourism brand highlighting the Commonwealth’s outdoor recreation opportunities. Pennsylvania’s state parks provide free access to nature, making them ideal destinations for relaxation and adventure.
