Black Moshannon State Park

Adult or youth groups of up to 60 people may reserve the rustic group tenting area, which has flush toilets but no showers.

Chapman State Park

Year round, this rustic area is available for rent to adult and youth groups. The area has restrooms, fire rings, and picnic tables. Advance reservations are required.

 

Colton Point State Park

​Qualified adult and youth groups may use this 90-person capacity area from the second Friday in May to the third Sunday in October -- weather permitting. It is equipped with picnic tables. Advance reservations are recommended. This area is rustic in nature and so no vehicles are permitted in the camping area.

 

Hills Creek State Park

Qualified adult and youth groups may use this 40-person capacity area equipped with picnic tables, pavilion, fire rings, water, and flush toilets. Campers may shower in the campground.

 

This wooded peninsula is open from the second Friday in April to the third Sunday in October -- weather permitting. Advance reservations are recommended. Some of the larger hemlock, beech, maple, and ash trees in the park are found on this very picturesque peninsula.

Little Pine State Park

Available to adult and youth groups, there are four sites: two sites hold 40 people and two sites hold 20 people, or combine to hold 120 people.

 

A paved parking lot, showers, flush toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables are provided. A garbage and recycling center is near the campground entrance.

Ole Bull State Park

Two rustic areas hold 50 people each and have non-flush toilets, water hydrants, picnic tables, and fire rings

Parker Dam State Park

These open, grassy areas are in the northern end of the park at the intersection of Mud Run and Tyler roads. One area holds 20 people and the other area holds 50 people.

 

These rentable tenting areas have non-flush toilets, water hydrants, picnic tables, and fire rings. For an additional fee, organized groups can use the campground showers.

Poe Paddy State Park

​Qualified adult and youth groups can rent the group tenting area, which is open from the second Friday in April to mid-December. The area holds up to 20 people and has picnic tables, water, and vault toilets. Advance reservations are recommended.

Caledonia State Park

Caledonia offers five separate 20-person sites for rent to organized adult and youth groups. This area opens the day before trout season in March and closes the fourth Sunday in October.

 

There are flush toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings. Advance reservations are required. Caledonia makes a great base for groups touring the Gettysburg National Military Park.

Colonel Denning State Park

Qualified adult and youth groups may reserve the organized group tenting area for overnight use. This walk-in space includes five tent pads, picnic tables, lantern holders, and a large fire ring.

 

The organized group campsite can accommodate a maximum size group of 20 people.

Cowans Gap State Park

This camping area holds organized groups of up to forty people. The restroom has flush toilets but no showers and is open from the second Friday of April to the third Sunday in October.

 

Gifford Pinchot State Park

The six sites, which can hold up to 250 people, are in the campground. This modern area is for scout, church, or other organized groups that wish to camp together. Advance reservations are required.

 

Kings Gap Environmental Education Center

This wooded area located in the Kings Gap Hollow Area has one site with a capacity of 30 people, and may be reserved year-round by organized adult or youth groups. Advance reservations are recommended.

 

Pine Grove Furnace State Park

Organized adult or youth groups may reserve the modern area year-round. The area is divided into six separate sites with a total capacity of 180 people. The sites are in a wooded area surrounding an open playfield.

 

Prince Gallitzin State Park

A rustic tenting area may be reserved by organized adult and youth groups from Memorial Day weekend through October. There are picnic tables, restrooms, and drinking water.

 

Shawnee State Park

On the secluded Kegg Run finger of the lake, the organized group tenting area offers campers easy access to fishing, and canoe and kayak launching. Four campsites each have a capacity of 20 campers or a total capacity of 80.

 

The camp has composting toilets and a hand-pumped well. Each site has picnic tables and a fire ring. Organized youth and adult groups can rent the area April through December. Advance reservations are required.

Susquehannock State Park

The four organized group campsites can accommodate various group sizes. Qualified adult and youth groups may reserve space in the organized group tenting area for overnight use.

 

Warriors Path State Park

Qualified organized groups can camp in the primitive group tenting area from the beginning of trout season through October 31. The area can accommodate a single group of up to 80 people. Water and non-flush toilets are available.

 

There are picnic tables and two large fire rings, but no showers or electricity. An adjacent pavilion with electricity is available for a separate fee. Parking within the area is prohibited. Advance reservations are required.

Evansburg State Park

The group tenting area is in a clearing in the forested Oaks Picnic Area and is open from April to mid-October. Up to five people may occupy each of the 18 sites. There are flush toilets, but no showers, picnic tables, and fire rings. Qualified adult and youth groups may use this area. Reservations are required.

 

Fort Washington State Park

This rustic area is open year round and has a maximum capacity of 220 people.

 

Frances Slocum State Park

Organized groups can rent this modern area, which can accommodate up to 40 people. The camping area has drinking water, fire rings, picnic tables, flush toilets, and showers.

 

French Creek State Park

Qualified organized groups can camp in the primitive group tenting area April 1 through October 31. One site holds 60 people and 16 other sites each hold 30 people. Reservations are required.

 

Hickory Run State Park

Adult and youth groups can rent one or more of the group sites. This rustic area is open year round and has picnic tables, fire rings, non-flush toilets, and hand water pumps.

 

Lackawanna State Park

Three areas with a combined capacity of 160 people are open April through October to adult and youth groups. This area has a modern washhouse along with picnic tables, fire rings, and water. Advance reservations are required.

 

Ricketts Glen State Park

Qualified adult and youth groups may use this 240-person capacity area that is equipped with picnic tables, water, and flush toilets. The area is open from the third Monday in April to the third Monday in October. Advance reservations are recommended.

 

Ridley Creek State Park

Qualified organized groups can use the 120-person area from April to October. A restroom with flush toilets, but no showers, is available.

 

Salt Springs State Park

Group camping is available in a large mowed field adjacent to the main campground. There are composting toilets and handpumps for water. The maximum camping period is 14 consecutive days.

 

Reservations may be made in advance by contacting the Friends of Salt Springs State Park(opens in a new tab) and are confirmed when full payment is received.

Tobyhanna State Park

Five rustic sites are available. Sites #1 - #4 accommodate up to 20 people. Site #5 accommodates up to 40 people. Or, all sites can be combined to accommodate up to 120 people. The area is adjacent to Lot #4 and is open year round. It has vault toilets and hand operated water pump.

 

Worlds End State Park

This rustic area has three sites that hold 30 people each, or combine for holding 90 people. Adult and youth groups may apply. Advance reservations are required.

Allegheny Islands State Park

Allegheny Islands State Park is administered from Point State Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Qualified adult and youth groups may camp on the islands with written permission from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. 

 

The park is undeveloped and there are no facilities at the park -- please follow Leave No Trace Principles.

Cook Forest State Park

Organized groups can rent this rustic area year round. The five sites each accommodate 20 people.

 

Laurel Hill State Park

Qualified, organized adult and youth groups day use the 120-person capacity area. This area is open year round. Limited facilities include vault toilets, drinking water, fire rings, and picnic tables. Reservations are required.

 

Moraine State Park

There are two camping areas available for organized groups; Muskrat Cove and Five Points camps. These primitive camps have picnic tables, cooking grills and water, but no showers. Advance reservations are required.

 

Ohiopyle State Park

Qualified adult and youth groups may use this area which is equipped with picnic tables and grill, and access to a shower house. Groups may use a 20- or 40-person area or multiple sites for larger gatherings.

 

Oil Creek State Park

Organized groups can rent a rustic camping area in Wildcat Hollow or behind the Ski Warming Hut. Each area has nearby parking, picnic tables, fire circle, composting toilets, and seasonal water, but no showers.

 

Each camp can accommodate up to 25 people. Call the park office for accommodations for larger groups. Advance reservations are required.

Pymatuning State Park

This rustic area can serve groups up to 400 people and is in the Jamestown area.

 

Raccoon Creek State Park

There are six group tenting areas in the western side of the park.

 

Sioux A and Sioux B are located within the Sioux Rustic Campground and accommodate 20 and 60 people respectively. The Sioux tenting areas are open year round and pets are permitted.

 

The more remote Pioneer area is divided into four group tenting sites:

 

  • Apache - 60 people
  • Blackfeet - 20 people
  • Cherokee - 60 people
  • Mohawk - 40 people

Pioneer areas are open from mid-April to the end of November and pets are prohibited.

Ryerson Station State Park

A rustic camping area is available for organized adult or youth groups from the second Friday in April to the end of September.

 

The area can accommodate up to 100 people and provides vault toilets, drinking water, fire rings, picnic tables, and a pavilion. Reservations are required.

Make online reservations anytime. Call 888-PA-PARKS (888-727-2757), Monday to Saturday, from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., except on the Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day holidays.

Organized group tenting areas in Pennsylvania state parks can be reserved 11 months in advance to two days before arrival. Reservations can be made using:

  • Personal, traveler’s, and cashier’s checks (must be made through the reservation call center)
  • Pennsylvania State Parks Gift Card

To receive a confirmed reservation, full payment must be received by DCNR’s Bureau of State Parks within 10 days of making the reservation.
