Pine Creek

Paddling Pine Creek is a spring tradition for many, and a once in a lifetime thrill for others. Whether you’re interested in a three-day excursion or a two-hour easy paddle, any time spent on Pine Creek will be unforgettable.

The water is best for canoeing in March through May, but heavy rains may permit passage at other times of the year.

Most of the creek is considered Class 1, and is easily navigated by experienced paddlers; however, there are more challenging Class 2 and 3 rapids in some areas.

Please note that in Pennsylvania, a person is required to wear a Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (or life jacket) during the cold weather months from November 1 - April 30 while underway or at anchor on boats less than 16 feet in length or any canoe or kayak.

All children 12 years of age and younger on all commonwealth waters must wear a life jacket while underway on any boat 20 feet in length or less and on all canoes and kayaks. “Underway” includes drifting boats. Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Personal Floatation Device requirements apply.

Please note that all watercraft must comply with State Forest Rules and Regulations, as well as the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Rules and Regulations.

Gasoline and two-stroke engines are not permitted on Pine Creek.
