Benjamin Rush State Park is a dedicated green space surrounded by residential and industrial properties. It is one of the few remaining suitable habitats for many species of wildlife.

The natural environment supports a patchwork of meadows, gardens, and mature woodlands, allowing for a diversity of wildlife and vegetative species.

The water resource provides habitat for aquatic native species.

The relatively flat land and rich topsoil has lent itself over the years to be farmed by many generations. This practice still continues today.
