    Horseback riding is a popular and historic tradition of Big Elk Creek State Park. Equestrian riding is permitted on both Springlawn and Mt. Olivet trails.

    Currently, parking for equestrian trailers is limited, with no dedicated trailer parking available at Big Elk Creek State Park. Parking at Fairhill Nature Preserve for equestrian access to Big ElkCreek State Park is recommended.

    The master planning process at Big Elk Creek  is anticipated to include improvements to trails for better equestrian riding opportunities in the future.
