Erie Bluffs State Park is close to one state park, where visitors can enjoy recreation, education, and other activities.
Presque Isle State Park
The 3,200-acre Presque Isle State Park is a sandy peninsula that arches into Lake Erie. As Pennsylvania’s only “seashore”, Presque Isle offers its visitors a beautiful coastline and many recreational activities, including swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling, and in-line skating.
As a National Natural Landmark, Presque Isle is a favorite spot for migrating birds. Because of the many unique habitats, Presque Isle contains a greater number of the state’s endangered, threatened, and rare species than any other area of comparable size in Pennsylvania.
Other Nearby Outdoor Spaces and Natural Places
There are several other nearby outdoor spaces and natural places near Erie Bluffs State Park:
- The 518-mile Great Lakes Seaway Trail is a National Scenic Byway in the northeastern United States. West Lake Road (Route 5) along the southern border of the park is a portion of the Great Lakes Seaway Trail.
- State Game Lands 314 is comprised of a single tract totaling 3,455.5 deeded acres within the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Northwest Region, Wildlife Management Unit 1B. It is located just north of the small town of West Springfield about 20 road miles west of Erie and 10 miles northwest of Albion, Pennsylvania. The primary hunting activity at SGL 314 centers on: Deer, Turkey, Fox squirrel, Gray squirrel, and American woodcock.

Conneaut Harbor
Located in Conneaut, Ohio, Conneaut Harbor has a myriad of fun things to see and do, including:
- The iconic Conneaut Harbor Lighthouse
- Multiple bird observatories
- Fantastic restaurants overlooking the harbor
- 60-acre Conneaut Township Park
Conneaut Harbor also is home to world-class fishing, including the quickest access to Lake Erie in Ashtabula County, boat launches, fishing charters, and seasonal rentals at the Conneaut Boat Club. With breathtaking views of Lake Erie and a beautiful sandy swimming beach at the Conneaut Township Park, there is always something luring visitors to this community.
