Licensing

The Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) is the regulatory agency responsible for the licensure and oversight of drug and alcohol treatment facilities and recovery houses operating in the Commonwealth. 

Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facility Licensure

Any freestanding public or private facility in Pennsylvania providing drug and alcohol treatment activities must be licensed by DDAP.  

Recovery House Licensure

Drug and alcohol recovery houses that receive funding or referrals from public sources must be licensed by DDAP.

The following actions are applicable to licensed drug and alcohol treatment facilities and recovery houses.
