    The Storage Tank Division is located within the Bureau of Environmental Cleanup and Brownfields. It is part of Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection. The division is closely associated with the Storage Tank Cleanup Program (also within the Bureau of Environmental Cleanup and Brownfields).

     
    The legislature of the commonwealth has given DEP the responsibility to prevent the pollution of the water we all depend upon for drinking and bathing by promoting the responsible operation of ASTs and USTs. The division certifies private, third-party installers and inspectors of storage tanks to help us with this task.
