The Waste Minimization Program supports efforts that promote a more sustainable society, reduce the amount of waste generated, and lower the toxicity and persistence of wastes that are generated. In partnership with the U.S. EPA, the Department of Environmental Protection is supporting the following waste minimization efforts:
Schools Chemical Cleanout Campaign (SC3)
The Schools Chemical Cleanout Campaign (SC3) is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) program established to build a network of federal agencies, state agencies, teachers' associations, school administrator organizations, chemical suppliers, and industry leaders to raise national awareness of the potential chemical dangers in K-12 schools, facilitate chemical cleanouts, and prevent future problems with chemicals in schools.
