The residual waste program regulates the generation, storage, transportation, processing, beneficial use, composting, and disposal of residual waste (nonhazardous industrial waste).
The Division of Municipal and Residual Waste:
- Develops regulations on residual waste management;
- Develops General Permits for the Beneficial Use of residual waste;
- Provides guidance on Permitting and compliance monitoring of residual waste generators, permit-by-rule facilities, treatment facilities, storage facilities, surface impoundment facilities, incinerators, and land disposal facilities.
The Regional Solid Waste Management Programs:
- Issue permits;
- Perform inspections; and
- Enforce regulations.
