    ENERGY STAR Certified Homes and Apartments: Better is Better

    A new home that has earned the ENERGY STAR label was designed and built to standards well above most other homes on the market today, and has undergone a process of inspections, testing, and verification to meet strict requirements set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). ENERGY STAR certified homes are at least 10% more energy efficient than homes built to code and achieve a 20% improvement on average, while providing homeowners with better quality, performance, and comfort.

This assessment is like knowing your miles-per-gallon in your car or the car you are thinking about buying. Even if you are not buying or selling a home, through an in-home assessment, you will learn how efficient your home is compared to others and will be provided with cost-effective recommendations to improve your home's energy efficiency.
