Why Volunteer?
As a volunteer mentor, you’ll play a vital role in the success of our cadets. You’ll serve as a key role model, offering guidance and support that helps shape their futures. Mentors provide valuable extracurricular and professional advice, working alongside full-time staff to create a supportive environment. Your mentorship begins during the Residency Phase and continues through the 12-month Post-Residential Phase, offering continuity and support as cadets transition to life after the academy.
Your Role
Meet regularly with a cadet to ensure their success both during residency and as they work towards their post-residency goals in education, employment, or volunteering.
Participate in KSCA-led training sessions during the residential phase to prepare for your role.
Be a part of a meaningful mentor-to-cadet partnership that can make a lasting difference.
Get Started
- Cadets will nominate potential mentors from their community, or you can join our pool of volunteer mentors. KSCA staff will review and select mentors who meet the criteria.
- All mentors must pass state and federal background checks.
If you’re ready to make a difference with as little as 4 hours per month, we’d love to hear from you!
