
Harrisburg, PA – Education and outreach staff from the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities (DoBS) will be hosting and participating in numerous presentations for groups of seniors, service providers, and the general public throughout the month of May to promote financial capability and provide investor education.

Investing 101 – This introduction to saving and investing will cover the topics: why we need to save and invest, the difference between saving and investing, types of investments, the “power” of compound interest, investigating before you invest, technology and investing, and diversification.

Senior Summit 2025: Senior expos offer older adults and care providers resources and information that may allow them to live a more active lifestyle. Save and Invest PA: Students learn to pursue financial goals through this introduction to the basics of saving and investing. The presentation also briefly discusses how students can avoid financial scams. Students do not need to be studying financial topics and do not need previous experience with these topics.
