FAIRVIEW, Pa. (March 17) – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is alerting anglers and boaters that portions of Walnut Creek Marina in Fairview, Erie County, will be closed beginning this week for maintenance.
Visitors should note that the main motorboat launch will be closed beginning March 18, 2025, through April 30, 2025, so that dredging can be performed within the marina basin. In addition, the Walnut Creek Beach area will be closed for maintenance until approximately May 2, 2025.
The rest of the access area will remain open during this time. Anglers may use the parking lots and fish from sections of the pier and shoreline not impacted by the dredging activity. Boaters using canoes, kayaks, and smaller boats may use the small boat launch which is located directly south of the marina basin. This launch is shallow and does not provide access for larger boats.
The marina office and public restrooms will be open beginning April 10 (Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Weather permitting, slip holders who have a current contract may move their boats in for the season on or after May 10.
Fishing licenses and launch permits are available for purchase at the marina office or online at Fishandboat.com.
