Continuing Education Information
As an additional protection for Pennsylvania’s Insurance consumers, continuing education (CE) is one tool the Department uses to ensure the ongoing technical competency of its licensed insurance professionals.
Licensed Insurance Producers must complete a minimum of 24-hour continuing education credits during their two-year licensing cycle to maintain their license. Failure to complete the minimum requirement will result in the voluntary termination of your license.
Act 147 of 2002 gives the Department limited authority to waive CE requirements on an individual basis. Typically these waivers are a result of military service or other well-documented extenuating circumstances.
The Insurance Department has developed partnerships with professional firms to monitor and approve courses and instructors to maintain your education credit history.
