    Highmark/West Penn Allegheny Health System Modification Request

    On March 27, 2017, Highmark submitted a request to modify the conditions of the 2013 order permitting the purchase of West Penn-Allegheny Health System.

    On April 29, 2013, Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Michael Consedine announced the department’s approval of the transactional filing related to Highmark’s proposed affiliation with the West Penn-Allegheny Health System (West Penn) and the creation of an integrated delivery network. The Approving Determination and Order(opens in a new tab) is subject to certain conditions. In some cases, documents are required to be filed with the department. The original filing was submitted on November 7, 2011.
