Award-winning musician to sign bottles of Dos Primos Tequila on Friday, July 7
Wilkes-Barre Township – The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) announced that multi-platinum artist Thomas Rhett will sign pre-purchased bottles of Dos Primos Tequila beginning at noon Friday, July 7, at the Fine Wine & Good Spirits (FW&GS), Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace, 2136 Wilkes-Barre Blvd., Wilkes-Barre Township, Luzerne County.
Bottle purchase is required to meet Thomas Rhett, and there is a limit of two bottles to be signed per person. He will not be able to sign any material brought to the store.
FW&GS customers 21 years of age and older can sample Dos Primos Tequila Blanco (Code 98971, $46.79) at the Wilkes-Barre Township location beginning at noon.
Ten years after signing his record deal with Big Machine Label Group's The Valory Music Co., Thomas Rhett – dubbed "the most reliable maker of No. 1 singles in country music" by Variety magazine – has 20 multi-platinum and gold-certified No. 1 hits, 15 billion streams, and the longest current active streak of consecutive No. 1s in the format (according to Mediabase/ Country Aircheck Chart). Declared "a prince in the genre" by USA Today, Thomas has been honored with eight ACM Awards including Entertainer of the Year, two CMA Awards, five Grammy nominations, and trophies from the CMT Music Awards, Billboard Awards, and iHeartRadio Awards. He also received two CMA Triple Play awards for penning three No. 1 songs within a 12-month period. Thomas recently reached a career milestone, earning his 20th chart-topping hit in less than 10 years with "Half of Me," featuring Riley Green. In 2022, Thomas released his first-ever Christmas collection, Merry Christmas Y'all. He is on his Home Team 23 Tour, performing in 40 cities in 27 states.
Inspired by family, friends and his love of the outdoors, Thomas Rhett cofounded Dos Primos Tequila in 2021 with his cousin Jeff Worn ("dos primos" is "two cousins" in Spanish). The brand started out as a crazy idea on a ski lift. Dos Primos is distilled in west-central Mexico in the highlands of Jalisco. Dos Primos Tequila Blanco won an award at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirit Competition.
The PLCB regulates the distribution of beverage alcohol in Pennsylvania, operates 600 wine and spirits stores statewide, and licenses 20,000 alcohol producers, retailers, and handlers. The PLCB also works to reduce and prevent dangerous and underage drinking through partnerships with schools, community groups, and licensees. Taxes and store profits – totaling nearly $19.5 billion since the agency's inception – are returned to Pennsylvania's General Fund, which finances Pennsylvania's schools, health and human services programs, law enforcement, and public safety initiatives, among other important public services. The PLCB also provides financial support for the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, other state agencies, and local municipalities across the state.
