    Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency serves as the lead state agency for search and rescue programs. We partner with them to oversee swiftwater rescue credentialing in Pennsylvania.

    The only way to become a credentialed statewide swiftwater rescue team in Pennsylvania is through the Voluntary Rescue Service Recognition program.

    Apply through Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency's website in two steps:

    Step 1: Review program documents

    Step 2: Submit new or recertification applications and paperwork by email to your regional EMS council.
