Harrisburg, PA – At the request of officials in Philadelphia, the Shapiro Administration will open a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) to assist individuals, families and businesses affected by the plane crash that occurred in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday evening.
The tragic plane crash caused significant damage along Cottman Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia, leaving many residents and businesses with questions on how to recover", said PEMA Director Randy Padfield. "This MARC will bring multiple agencies and organizations to one location to help survivors navigate access to the resources they need to begin returning their lives and community back to normal."
The MARC will be located at the Scattergood Building of Friends Hospital, 4641 Roosevelt Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19124. The MARC will be open Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In addition to the City of Philadelphia resources and aid organizations, state agencies scheduled to participate or provide information include:
- PA Department of Health
- PA Department of Human Services
- PA Department of Revenue
- PA Department of Transportation
- PA Emergency Management Agency
- PA Insurance Department
Some of the resources provided by organizations staffing the MARC include information on vital documents, such as birth certificates and driver’s licenses, checking insurance coverage for damages, trauma/crisis response and mental health resources, benefits and disabilities support, tax assistance, how to avoid scams, and recovery information. If not already completed, residents and businesses are encouraged to report property damages to the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management online at www.phila.gov/damagereporter or by phone by dialing 3-1-1.
The City of Philadelphia has also announced a public town hall meeting at 7:00 p.m. this evening to discuss steps forward after the crash. The meeting will be held at S. Solis-Cohen Elementary School, 7001 Horrocks Street, Philadelphia, PA 19149 and will be available on the city’s Facebook live stream.
