Bridge Project on West Center Road in Conneaut Township, Crawford County to Start April 21

A $1.1 million project to replace the bridge that carries West Center Road over Paden Run in Conneaut Township, Crawford County is scheduled to start next week.

The bridge is located on West Center Road (Route 4004) just west of the intersection with Beaver Center Road (Route 4001).

The project will include removal of the current steel bridge and construction of a new concrete structure. Work will also include waterproofing, minor asphalt paving near the bridge, as well as updates to the drainage and guiderail. Work is expected to begin April 21, 2025, weather permitting, and be complete October 2025

A detour will be required during construction and is expected to be in place for approximately four months. It will be posted using Beaver Center Road, Route 6, and Partch Road (Route 4006).

The existing bridge was built in 1893. On average, approximately 230 vehicles a day use West Center Road. The bridge is rated in poor condition and is posted with an 18-ton weight restriction.

The contractor is Thomas Construction Inc of Grove City, PA. The contract cost is $1,118,080.72, which is to be paid entirely with federal funds.
