A $3.3 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than 6 miles of Route 427 in Venango County and Crawford County is scheduled to start next month.
The project includes milling and paving 6.3 miles of roadway from Factory Street in the Borough of Cooperstown through Jackson and Plum townships in Venango County and extends just across the Crawford County line in Troy Township near the intersection with Route 27. Work will also include drainage upgrades, guiderail updates and line painting.
Construction is expected to begin on April 7, 2025, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed by August 2025.
Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers. Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions.
The contractor is IA Construction Corporation of Franklin, PA. The contract cost is $3,324,666.66, which is to be paid entirely with federal funds.
