A $1.3 million project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than 4 miles of German Hill Road (Route 4004) in Forest County is scheduled to start March 31, 2025.
The project will include paving of 4.12 miles of roadway from Route 36 in Tionesta Borough through Tionesta Township to the intersection of Little Hickory Road/Nebraska Road (Route 3004) in Green Township. Work will also include drainage, guiderail, and pavement marking updates.
Work is expected to start March 31, 2025, weather permitting, and to be completed in early June 2025.
Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions controlled by flaggers. PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
The contractor is IA Construction Corporation of Franklin, PA. The contract cost is $1,309,777.77, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
This year PennDOT’s Northwest Region expects to work on more than 100 projects. To see a full listing of all the anticipated work, check out the 2025 Construction Book located under the Partner Resources section at www.penndot.pa.gov/District1.
