Change of Date for the Route 422 Ramp Closure as part of the Indiana Bypass Repairs Project in White Township, Indiana County

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing a date change for the closure of the Route 422 Eastbound off-ramp to Route 286/Oakland Avenue in White Township, Indiana County.

Previously scheduled to close April 25 through April 28, the Route 422 Eastbound off-ramp to Route 286/Oakland Avenue will now be closed May 2 at 6:00 PM through May 5 at 6:00 PM. To detour, motorists will travel Route 422 Eastbound to Exit B Route 119 North/Punxsutawney, follow Route 119 North to Exit B Route 422 West/Kittanning then Route 422 Westbound to Route 286 Oakland Avenue Exit.

The Route 422 Eastbound off-ramp to Route 286/Oakland Avenue closure will occur concurrently with the Route 286 on-ramp to Route 422 eastbound closure.

For the Route 286 on-ramp to Route 422 eastbound detour, motorists will travel Route 286 (Oakland Avenue) to Route 4422 west (Ben Franklin Road), then turn left onto Business Route 422 (Philadelphia Street Extension West) and back onto Route 422 eastbound via the on-ramp at the bottom of Watts Hill.

Contractor, Derry Construction Co., Inc. of Latrobe, PA will be completing this $14.5 million project anticipated to be completed in December 2025.
