REMINDER: Route 4003 McKnight Road Crossover Phase Change Friday in Ross Township

Northbound McKnight Road to Babcock Boulevard ramp to close

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is reminding motorists the next phase of the traffic crossover on Route 4003 (McKnight Road) in Ross Township, Allegheny County, will begin tomorrow, Friday, April 18 weather permitting.

Northbound traffic on McKnight Road is expected to be crossed over into the southbound lanes on Friday to allow crews to continue work on the structure carrying traffic over Babcock Boulevard.  Preparatory work will begin at 9 a.m. Friday with traffic being shifted to the outermost lanes. Crews will conduct barrier installation and line painting operations in advance of the crossover.

Once the prep work is complete, northbound traffic will be crossed over in the southbound lanes between Brookview Lane and Ross Municipal Drive at the Babcock Boulevard interchange. The new configuration will include one 12-foot lane of traffic in each direction. The crossover is anticipated to remain in place through early July. The ramp from Babcock Boulevard to northbound McKnight Road will remain open to traffic. The Babcock Boulevard on-ramp to southbound McKnight Road will reopen and the southbound off-ramp will remain open to traffic.

Additionally, to accommodate this work, the northbound McKnight Road off-ramp to Babcock Boulevard will close to traffic through early July. Ramp traffic will be detoured.
