Route 885 Lebanon Road Tunnel Improvements Begin Next Week in West Mifflin

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing improvement work on the Allegheny County Airport tunnel on Lebanon Road (Route 885) in West Mifflin Borough, Allegheny County will begin Monday, April 7 weather permitting.

Beginning at approximately 6 a.m. Monday morning, a single lane of southbound Route 885 traffic will be crossed over into the northbound lanes to allow work to occur on the Allegheny County Airport tunnel between Noble Drive and Lebanon Church Road. During this first phase of work a single lane of bi-directional traffic will be maintained in the northbound lanes. Restrictions will occur around-the-clock through late June.  Additional details will be provided in advance of the next phase of work.

Improvement work includes drainage cleaning, tunnel repairs, and lighting improvements. Crews from Golden Triangle Construction, Inc. will conduct the work for the Allegheny County Airport Authority.
