I-279 Parkway North Bridge Inspections Start Next Week in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing lane restrictions on I-279 (Parkway North) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will begin Monday, October 16 weather permitting.

Single-lane restrictions will occur in both directions on I-279 (Parkway North/North Shore Expressway) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Friday, October 27 in the following locations: 

  • Southbound I-279 over Federal Street and Lacock Street – Additional restrictions include a shoulder closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and single-lane restrictions on Mazeroski Way and Lacock Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Northbound I-279 over Mazeroski Way and Federal Street – Additional restrictions include overnight lane restrictions from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and single-lane restrictions on Lacock Street and Federal Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Crews from Gannett Fleming will conduct bridge inspection work.

Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns. Please use caution when driving through the area. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.
