Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing the aesthetic design results for the Interstate 79/Route 910 Wexford Interchange project in Franklin Park Borough and Marshall Township, Allegheny County.
The department asked for public input on the color of the steel beams and the concrete texture choice for the abutments and piers. The survey was conducted via PennDOT’s website through January 31, 2025 and received over 1,200 votes. The selected design results include blue steel beams for the superstructure and chiseled cut ashlar stone form liners for the substructure. The winning design, as well as additional information regarding the project, can be found on the project webpage.
The design purpose of the Wexford Interchange project is to improve safety and operations of the I-79/Route 910 Wexford Interchange in Franklin Park Borough and Marshall Township. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2025.
