PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

Week of April 28, 2025

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 28. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Base repair:

  • Route 31 (Summit Road) in Donegal Township
  • Route 3017 (Nicholls Hill Road) in Rostraver Township
  • Route 3071 (Arona Road) in Hempfield Township

Ditch cleaning:

  • Route 381 (Weavertown Road) in Cook and Donegal townships
  • Route 2025 (Clay Pike) in Mount Pleasant Township
  • Route 3017 (Nicholls Hill Road) in Rostraver Township

Patching:

  • Route 30 in Latrobe and Derry townships
  • Route 66 in Washington Township
  • Route 366 in Washington Township

Replacing cross pipe:

  • Route 3077 (Penn Adamsburg Road) in the City of Jeannette
    • Road closed between Gratz Street and Julie Dean Lane
      • Detour:
        • Route 4008 (Penn High Park Road/Baughman Avenue/Pennsylvania Boulevard)
        • Route 30 (Lincoln Highway)
        • Route 3077 (Edna Road/Penn Adamsburg Road)

Shoulder cutting:

  • Various routes in East Huntingdon and South Huntingdon townships

Slide repair:

  • Route 1022 (Latrobe-Crabtree Road) in Unity Township

Sweeping:

  • Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) in Ligonier Township
  • Route 31 (Donegal Road) in Donegal Borough

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
