PennDOT’s Fayette County Maintenance Update

Uniontown, PA – Fayette County Maintenance Manager, Jason L. Spangler, announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 22, 2023. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting and operational basis.

During county maintenance work activities motorists should expect to encounter flaggers, single-lane restrictions, moving operations, and detours. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

Bridge replacement is scheduled for:

  • Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) in Bullskin Township

 Pipe flushing is scheduled for:

  • Route 711 (Springfield Pike) in Connellsville Township
  • Route 381 (Indian Creek Valley Road) in Springfield Township

 Inlet flushing is scheduled for:

  • Route 819 (Dawson Scottdale Road) in Lower and Upper Tyrone Townships
  • Route 381 (Indian Creek Valley Road) in Springfield Township

 Brushing is scheduled for:

  • Various routes in North and South Union Townships

 Shoulder cutting is scheduled for:

  • Route 2011 (Dinnerbell and Dinnerbell Five Forks Road) in Wharton and Stewart Townships
  • Route 2005 (Canaan Church Road) in Wharton Township
  • Route 2006 (Five Forks Road) in Wharton Township
  • Route 2009 (Fox Hollow Road) in Wharton Township

 Sign review is scheduled for:

  • Route 40 in Menallen and Redstone Townships

 Seal coating is scheduled for:

  • Route 1018 (Vances Mill Road) in North Union Township
  • Route 1012 (Buena Vista Road) in Franklin Township
  • Route 1043 (Vances Mill Road) in North Union Township
  • Route 4028 (Town Country Road) in Franklin Township
  • Route 4030 (Reservoir and Buena Vista Roads) in Franklin Township
  • Route 4032 (Bolden Road) in Franklin Township

 Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.
 PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). 

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
