PennDOT's Greene County Maintenance Update

Uniontown, PA – Greene County Maintenance Manager, Dale Baird, announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 31, 2023. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather dependent and operational basis.

During county maintenance work activities motorists should expect to encounter flaggers, single-lane restrictions, moving operations, and detours. Please drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

Litter and debris removal is scheduled for:

  • Interstate 79 in Perry, Whiteley, Franklin, and Washington Townships 

Shoulder cutting is scheduled for:

  • Route 19 (Mt. Morris Road) in Whiteley and Franklin Townships.
  • Route 2003 (Big Shannon Road) in Perry and Whiteley Towns

 Drainage improvements are scheduled for:

  • Route 1006 (Browns Ferry Road) in Cumberland Township 

Shoulder stabilization is scheduled for:

  • Route 88 (Dilliner Road / Point Marion Road) in Dunkard and Monongahela Townships
  • Route 2018 (Kirby Road) in Whiteley Township 

Boom mowing is scheduled for:

  • Route 3014 (Bluff Ridge Road Road) in Wayne Township
  • Route 3013 (Oak Forest Road) in Wayne Township 

Spray patching is scheduled for:

  • Interstate 79 in Perry, Whiteley, Franklin, and Washington Townships 
  • Route 21 (Roy E. Furman Highway) in Franklin, Cumberland, and Monongahela Townships
  • Route 88 (Dilliner Road / Point Marion Road) in Dunkard and Monongahela Townships
  • Route 19 (Mt. Morris Road) in Perry and Whiteley Townships
  • Various state routes throughout the county as needed 

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 3011 (Hargus Creek Road) in Center Township. Road Closed.
    • Detour posted as follows:

      • Route 218 (Smith Creek Road / Morgan Street)
      • Route 19 (East High Street)
      • Route 21 (West High Street / Roy E. Furman Highway)
      • Route 18 (Roy E. Furman Highway / Golden Oaks Road)
      • Route 3011 (Hargus Creek Road) 

Slide repairs:

  • Route 4010 (Grange Road) in Gray Township. Road Closed.
    • Detour posted as follows:
      • Route 21 (Roy E. Furman Highway)
      • Route 4007 (Main Street)
      • Route 4015 (Springtown Road)

 Minor drainage improvements:

  • Various Routes 

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). 

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts
