    PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update

    ​Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard announced the following tentative work plan for the week of October 10, 2023. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

    During county maintenance work activities motorists should expect to encounter flaggers, single-lane restrictions, moving operations, and detours. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

     Base repair:

    • Route 1006 (Venetia Road) in Peters Township.

    • Route 1061 (Mingo Church Road) in Nottingham Township.

     Boom mowing:

    • Route 4014 (Eldersville Road to Cedar Grove Road) in Jefferson Township.

    • Route 4023 (Strope Road) in Jefferson Township.

    • Route 4025 (Meneely Road to Cedar Grove Road) in Jefferson Township.

    • Route 4027 (Cedar Grove Road) in Jefferson Township.

     Bridge repair:

    • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township.

    • Route 3021 (McGuffey Road) in West Finley Township.

     Brushing:

    • Route 4001 (Robinson Church Road) in Robinson Township.

    • Route 4002 (Pittsburgh Street to Bigger Road) in Hanover and Robinson townships.

     Cleaning debris from guiderail:

    • Route 2027 (Twilight Hollow Road) in Speers Borough.

     Ditch line cleaning:

    • Route 2027 (Twilight Hollow Road) in Speers Borough.

     Inlet cleaning/repairs:

    • Route 19 (Washington Road) in North Strabane and Peters townships.

    • Route 50 (Millers Run Road) in Cecil Township.

    • Route 980 (McDonald Street) in Cecil Township.

     Mowing:

    • Interstate 70, Ramps 8025 (Donora Borough) and Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue).

    • Route 519 Park and Ride, Ramps 9503 and 9501 in North Strabane Township.

    • Interstate 79 Park and Ride, Ramp 9504 (Beau Street) in South Strabane Township.

    • Route 22, Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township.

     Patching:

     Restore slide/sinkhole:

    • Route 2015 (Spring Valley Road to Daniels Run Road) in West Bethlehem and North Bethlehem townships.

     Rock lining:

    • Interstate 79 in Amwell and South Strabane townships.

    • Route 2002 (Vance Station Road) in South Strabane Township.

    • Route 2027 (State Street) in Long Branch Borough.

     Slide repair:

    • Route 2020 (Plum Sock Road) in Morris Township.

     Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

    Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.

    PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). 

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 

    511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
