Route 119 Memorial Boulevard Signal Improvements to Begin in Fayette County

Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing scheduled daytime single-lane restrictions on Route 119 (Memorial Boulevard) in the City of Connellsville, Fayette County, beginning Monday, March 31, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Anticipated through October, crews from Bruce & Merrilees Electric Company will improve traffic signals between Route 711 (Crawford Avenue) and Pittsburgh Street, Ext. (Route 1031) — an infrastructure investment of $2.4 million.

All work depends on weather and operations.

Motorists should be advised of potential delays and obey flaggers or police officers directing traffic. Brief, full stoppages of traffic will be necessary for related utility work and when installing new signal mast arms.

The total scope of work includes full replacement of the existing traffic signals at McDonald's and Pittsburgh Street (Route 1037) intersections and upgrades to traffic signals at Route 201 (Vanderbilt Road), Route 711 (Crawford Avenue), Shopping Plaza Drive, and York Avenue/Water Street (Route 1037). All intersections will get new sidewalks, ADA ramps, pavement markings, and signs.

Stay alert and drive cautiously through the work zones—safety is everyone's responsibility.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or by following regional X alerts.
