Westbound Interstate 70 Lane Restriction Begins Tonight in Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that a single-lane restriction is scheduled to begin tonight on westbound Interstate 70 between Yukon Interchange and Mt. Pleasant/West Newton Interchange in South Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County.

The restriction will be in place overnight - 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM - depending on weather and operations:

  • Wednesday, September 13 to Thursday, September 14.
  • Thursday, September 14 to Friday, September 15. 

Crews from Trumbull Corporation will be replacing joint seals in new concrete pavement.

The work is part of the $92.8 million Interstate 70 Yukon and Madison Interchanges Improvement Project for the reconstruction and widening of Interstate 70, reconstruction of the Yukon and Madison interchanges, replacement of four mainline I-70 structures, replacement of culverts, and maintenance work for a structure on Route 3010.
