Highway Resurfacing on Route 445 to Restart Wednesday

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that highway resurfacing work on Route 445 in Walker Township, Centre County, will resume on Wednesday, April 23. This project will improve ride quality and extend the service life of the roadway.

Starting Wednesday, drivers should expect to encounter flaggers in the roadway between the intersections of Hoy Road/Rodgers Road and Route 64 in Walker Township while crews complete paving operations. Crews will also complete shoulder backup and pavement marking at this location.

Additional work on this project will impact Route 445 between Route 45 in Millheim Borough and Route 192 (Brush Valley Road) in Miles Township. PennDOT expects work on that portion to start later this summer after utility poles within the work zone are relocated and will issue an update before it begins.

This work is part of a group paving project that started during the 2024 construction season and will improve more than 18 miles of roadway on five routes in Centre and Clinton counties. The contractor finished work in Clinton County last year, and these are the final two sites that will see work as part of this $5.5 million project. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., of State College, PA, is the contractor.
