Montoursville, PA – Construction is set to begin on the embankment stabilization project on Overton Road (Route 3002) in Albany Township, Bradford County.
Starting on Monday, March 31, 2025, contractor, LTT Trucking, LLC., will begin construction of four retaining walls along Overton Road. Additional work includes drainage improvements and the removal and replacement of the culvert carrying Overton Road over Ladds Creek.
Overton Road remains closed in both directions between Hatch Hill Road (Route 3004) in Overton Township and Front Street (Route 220) in New Albany Borough. A detour using Hatch Hill Road and Route 220 has been in place since the Fall 2018 due to an active landslide.
LTT Trucking, LLC., is the prime contractor for this $12.4 million embankment repair project. Work on this project includes the construction of four new retaining walls, replacement of the existing culvert carrying Overton Road over Ladd’s Creek and resurfacing of approximately one-half mile of the roadway from the culvert east to Fawcett Avenue. In 2025, construction will begin on the four retaining walls and removal and replacement of the box culvert, and drainage improvements throughout the project. In 2026, retaining walls will be completed, the roadway will be reconstructed, and new guide rail and signs installed. Work on this project began in the fall 2024 and is anticipated to be completed in the fall 2026, weather permitting.
