Montoursville, PA – PennDOT invites the public to an Open House with Plans Display regarding the Route 54 (Montgomery Bridge) rehabilitation project in Montgomery Borough and Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County.
In order to maintain and extend the service life of the bridge that carries Route 54 over the West Branch Susquehanna River repair work is currently being planned. Work includes the removal of the existing concrete deck and replacement with a new concrete overlay, complete curb repairs, replacement of expansion joint seal materials, approach work, and line painting.
The project, which is currently is the design phase, with construction anticipated to begin in late summer 2026 and completed in fall 2026.

The Virtual Plans Display will be available between March 14, 2025 through April 14, 2025. The Virtual Plans Display and detailed project information is available to view online by visiting the following PennDOT District 3-0 website: Route 54 - Bridge Rehabilitation - Montgomery Borough, Lycoming County | Department of Transportation | Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The purpose of the plans display is to introduce the project, display and describe the planned traffic control, and receive public input regarding questions or concerns with the project.
