Restriction: This section of Route 115 north that had been closed will now be open. Route 115 south will be closed and detoured. The posted detour routes Route 115 south traffic on Route 903, Route 534, Route 209, Route 715, Sugar Hollow Road, and State Road. Expect delays and use caution driving through the area.
The traffic changes are for a $5,174,969 project to improve Route 115 that began in early 2024 and is anticipated to be complete this August. The project includes safety improvements on Route 115 from approximately Astolat Road to approximately 300 feet north of the Pohopoco Creek Bridge and includes the realignment of Merwinsburg Road at Route 115.
The project calls for rehabilitating the Route 115 travel lanes, installing new guide rail, adding new signs, and new pavement markings It also includes construction of a wide shoulder and retaining wall at the corner of Astolat Road, widening for a Route 115 southbound left turn lane at Evergreen Hollow Road, and the re-alignment of Merwinsburg Road and widening for a Route 115 northbound left turn lane at the new T- intersection of Merwinsburg Road and Route 115.
Road-Con, Inc. of West Chester, PA is the general contractor on the project.
