Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge project on Greenville Road (Route 1053) north of Denver in Lancaster County is scheduled to begin next week. The bridge spans Cocalico Creek just north of the 3-way intersection of Greenville Road, Peartown Road, and Sportsman Road in West Cocalico Township.
Weather permitting, work on this project will begin Monday, April 28. Initial work includes tree trimming followed by utility relocations. There will be flagging, as needed, during daylight hours.
The bridge will be closed later this summer for replacement. A press release will be issued prior to the closure.
This work consists of replacing the bridge over Cocalico Creek with a two-span prestressed concrete spread box beam bridge. Work also includes minor approach work, guide rail updates, roadway reconstruction, and other miscellaneous construction.
Susquehanna Valley Construction Company of New Cumberland, PA, is the contractor on this $2,587,500 project. All work is expected to be completed by October 16, 2026.
