Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that closures are planned for the restroom facilities at the northbound and southbound Interstate 81 (Newville) rest areas in Cumberland County so transformers can be replaced. The parking areas will remain open.
Weather permitting, the restrooms at the northbound I-81 rest area will be closed during daylight hours on Tuesday, February 18. A rain date is set for Wednesday, February 19. The restrooms at the southbound I-81 rest area will be closed during daylight hours on Monday, February 24, with a rain date set for Tuesday, February 25.
The next available rest area is just south of Exit 80 (Grantville/Hershey) in Dauphin County.
