Reminder: Weekend Closure Planned Nov. 17-20 on WB Route 283 in Lancaster County

Span over WB Route 283 to be removed from Strickler Road bridge

Harrisburg, PA – This is a reminder that a closure is planned for this weekend on westbound Route 283 in Lancaster County so a span can be removed from the Strickler Road (Route 4045) bridge spanning the highway in Rapho Township. Eastbound Route 283 will remain open.

Weather permitting, westbound Route 283 will be closed at the Route 230/Mount Joy Exit at 9:00 PM Friday, November 17, and is expected to reopen no later than 6:00 AM Monday, November 20. A detour will be in place.

Motorists traveling westbound in Route 283 should exit at the Mount Joy/Route 230 Exit, then take Route 230 west through Mount Joy Borough to Cloverleaf Road, then turn right and proceed to the Cloverleaf Road Interchange and westbound Route 283.

The Strickler Road bridge was closed to traffic in October due to a vehicle strike. It will remain closed until further notice. PennDOT currently is working on a repair plan and will provide updates once a repair schedule is available.
