The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to expect delays on Route 220 Business (Pleasant Valley Boulevard and Valley View Boulevard) between Jaggard Street and 10th Street for rehabilitation projects on the 16th Street and 12th Street bridges, beginning April 8, 2025.
The project will close 16th Street and 12th Street and detours will be implemented.
For the 12th Street bridge project, a detour less than one mile in length for approximately 52 days will be in place using Pleasant Valley Boulevard, 10th Street, 13th Street, Adams Avenue, and Valley View Boulevard.
For the 16th Street project, a detour of less than one mile in length for approximately 52 days will be in place using Jaggard Street, Valley View Boulevard, 15th Street and Pleasant Valley Boulevard.
Permanent roadway signs will be in place to mark the start, end and route of the detour, and flaggers and channelizing devices will be in place where needed.
As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage.
Cottle’s Asphalt Maintenance, Inc., Everett, Pa., is the contractor for the $524,135.35 bridge rehabilitation project. The anticipated completion date is May 2025.
