Expect Minor Delays Along Interstate 70 from Amaranth, Fulton Co. to Maryland Line for Pavement Preservation Project Starting April 14

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to expect minor delays beginning on Monday, April 14, 2025, on Interstate 70 (I-70) from Amaranth, Fulton County to the Maryland Line as the next phase of the route’s pavement preservation project gets under way.

From April 14 to April 25, the right lanes of both eastbound and westbound I-70 will be closed from mile marker 164.5 to the Maryland State Line for pipe culvert cleaning.

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc., of New Enterprise, Pa., is the lead contractor for the $30.9 million pavement preservation project, which includes 25 miles of I-70, the rehabilitation of eight bridge-structures, and the replacement of a box culvert in Fulton County. Additional work includes milling and resurfacing, new pavement markings, new signs, guiderail upgrades, sealing joints and tree cutting.
