The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to expect minor delays beginning Monday, April 14, 2025, along Route 220 in Cumberland Valley Township, Bedford County.
From April 14 through April 25, 2025, motorists can expect single-lane closures under standard daylight flagging operations (weekdays from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM), and delays of up to 15 minutes on Route 220 from the Maryland border to T-337 (Narrow Lane Road) for milling and pavement repairs.
As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.
The $4,425,000 project includes pavement preservation of approximately 5.4 miles of Route 220 in Bedford County. Work includes milling and resurfacing, drainage improvements, guide rail upgrades, rumble strips, signing and pavement markings, tree trimming and removal, and the rehabilitation of three bridge-structures, on Route 220, Cherry Run Road, and T-337 (Narrow Lane Road). The lead contractor is New Enterprise Stone & Lime, Co., Inc., of New Enterprise, PA.
