The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is developing plans for Route 3014 (Mt. Airy Drive) Section 02B over U.S. 219 Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Richland Township, Cambria County.
The project will involve the complete replacement of the bridge superstructure (the deck, girders, and beams above the substructure) and repairs to the substructure (the columns, abutments and/or foundation that carries the bridge load). Minor approach roadway paving to tie into the structure along with guide rail updates will be included.
Mt. Airy Drive traffic will use a detour for the duration of construction to allow the contractor full access to the bridge. Short-term overnight detours of U.S. 219 will be utilized for work activities related to bridge demolition and beam erection.
For those interested in learning more about this project, a public meeting and plans display is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Richland Township Meeting Room located at 322 Schoolhouse Road, Johnstown, Pa.
The meeting location is accessible to persons with disabilities. Anyone having special needs or requiring special aid is asked to contact the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation prior to the meeting. If you require additional information concerning the meeting, please contact James F. Bittner, Jr., P.E., PennDOT Project Manager, at (814) 696-7184.
