Delays Expected During Evening and Overnight Hours on Route 36 (Woodbury Pike) in Roaring Spring and Taylor Township, Blair County, Starting February 24

A majority of the work is scheduled from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM to minimize traffic impact during peak travel hours

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to expect delays during evening and overnight hours beginning Monday, February 24, 2025, for an intersection improvement project at the intersections of Route 36 (Woodbury Pike) and Route 164 (Cove Mountain Road) and Route 36 and Route 2006 (Cove Lane) in Roaring Spring Borough and Taylor Township in Blair County.

The intersection improvement project consists of shoulder widening and the addition of turning lanes, as well as utility relocation and drainage upgrades.

A majority of the work will be completed between the hours of 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM to minimize traffic impact during peak travel hours.

Penelec FirstEnergy will begin utility relocations on Monday, February 24, 2025, and the project’s contractor, Cottle’s Asphalt Maintenance, Inc. of Everett, Pa., will start construction work at the site on the following week, on Monday, March 3, 2025.

Long-term traffic controls will be in place to shift traffic away from the shoulder areas.

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.
