Horner Street Closed with Detour for Route 8016 Ramp-Bridge Painting Project in Johnstown, Cambria County, Beginning April 28

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing motorists of the closure and detour of Horner Street and the reduction of Route 3016 (Bedford Street) to one lane for the Route 8016 ramp-bridge painting project in the City of Johnstown in Cambria County beginning Wednesday, April 28, 2025.

Route 3016 (Bedford Street) will be restricted to one lane during daylight hours, and the portion of Horner Street running under the Route 8016 ramp-bridge will be closed, with a 1.1-mile detour following Haynes Street, Napolean Street and Hickory Street in effect from Wednesday, April 28 to Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Charles J. Merlo, Inc., of Mineral Point, Pa., is the contractor for the $1,173,000 bridge project, slated for completion in the 2025 construction season.

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.
