    Route 72 Repairs Scheduled in Union Township, Lebanon County

    Milling and Base Repairs Resume Friday, Paving Begins Next Week

     

    Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a contractor will repair a section of Route 72 (Ebenezer Road) near Swatara State Park in Union Township, Lebanon County.

     

    Weather permitting, this work will be performed weekdays during daylight hours after 7:30 AM starting Friday, October 4, until the end of the month. There will be traffic shifts with one lane open in each direction. Minor delays are expected.

     

    Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

     

    The original contract work including ramp work, base repair, milling and overlay, guide rail replacement, and drainage on Fisher Avenue, as well as on portions of Route 72 and Lickdale Road (Route 1020) is complete. However, due to shoulder washouts and pavement deterioration on Route 72 north of this project, PennDOT is extending the project limits approximately 2.5 miles to the beginning of the Swatara State Park.

     

    New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor on this $2,294,134 project.  All work is expected to be completed by November 1, 2024.
