Illustrated Annual Wildlife Diversity Reports
Wildlife is an important part of Pennsylvania's heritage—economically, aesthetically, and even spiritually. The conservation of this legacy is a complex and sometimes unpredictable process. A multitude of limiting factors – acid rain, habitat loss, disease, and even the wind – are threats to the hundreds of wild birds and mammals that make Pennsylvania home or pass through it during migration. The Game Commission's Wildlife Diversity Program performs the endless job of monitoring species that aren't hunted or trapped. These reports chronicle its accomplishments and highlight the most pressing or perplexing problems impacting nongame species.
