Know Before You Go
The holidays come with holiday travel. Whether traveling to or just passing through Pennsylvania, we have you covered.
Check Your Route
PennDOT has a website where you can see road conditions, traffic delays, weather forecasts, live traffic cameras, and even track plow trucks.
Sign Up for Alerts
We advise everyone to have at least two ways to get breaking weather alerts. Staying weather aware keeps us all safe on the roads and beyond.
Pennsylvanians can get alerts for their home address and business address through Alert PA.

Be Ready for Winter Weather
Winter weather makes for especially dangerous travel conditions. Avoid or delay travel during winter storms, if possible. If you must travel, be as prepared as possible. Get weather alerts, check your route beforehand, and bring supplies just in case you end up needing them.
Prevent Fire
Heating, more candles, and decorations bring cozy vibes to the holiday season. Unfortunately, they also bring an increased risk of fire.
Safety Tips
↔️ Keep candles at least 12 inches from anything that can burn.
🕎 Put candles on a flat surface.
🌬️ Blow out candles before leaving or going to bed.
Safety Tips
🎄 Keep trees at least three feet from heat sources like fireplaces, radiators, space heaters, candles, and heat vents.
🚿 Water trees every day, and get rid of them after the holiday when they're dry.
Safety Tips
✨ Read string light instructions and throw away any strands that are worn or damaged.
🚫 Don't block exits with decor.
⏲️ Don't overload circuits, and use timers/turn off lights when you leave or go to bed.
