Motorcycle Training Under 18

Individuals under the age of 18 wishing to obtain their motorcycle license can obtain their motorcycle license by completing a basic motorcycle safety course through a third-party motorcycle training provider approved through the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program (PAMSP).

Individuals under the age of 18 wishing to obtain their motorcycle license can obtain their motorcycle license by completing a basic motorcycle safety course through a third-party motorcycle training provider approved through the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program (PAMSP).

To be eligible to take the skills exam, in addition to the training course requirement stated above, the student must have held a motorcycle learner’s permit for at least six months and have 65 hours of supervised riding.

NOTE: In addition to the required training for motorcycle permit holders under the age of 18,  the student must have held a motorcycle learner’s permit for at least six months and have 65 hours of supervised riding to be eligible to take the skills exam at a PennDOT Driver License Center or receive the licensing waiver at a third-party motorcycle training vendor.
